Ralph Waldo Emerson sagde, “Bygge en bedre musefælde og verden vil slå en sti til din dør.”

Men når du starter din egen virksomhed, der er ingen garanti for at din “musefælde” vil overleve, især i dagens tempofyldt erhvervsliv.

Næsten halvdelen af alle små virksomheder mislykkes inden for de første to år af operationen. Den vigtigste grund for virksomhedsfiasko er utilstrækkelig planlægning. Den anden årsag er manglende kapitalisering.

Så før du pant dit hus, eller gå ind i gæld, der finansiere din virksomhed, skal du vide, hvis din virksomhed vil overlever mere end–ønsker du at vide, om det er godt nok til at trives! Her er tre ting succesfulde virksomheder, der har opholdt sig i erhvervslivet, i fem år eller længere har til fælles:

1. idé. En vellykket business start-up starter altid med en idé. Noget, der gør din virksomhed skiller sig ud fra resten. Så hvordan kan du vide, hvis du har fået en god idé?

Du har sandsynligvis fået en god idé, hvis du kan svare ja til nogen af de følgende spørgsmål: er din idé give løsningen på et stort problem for din målgruppe? Det opfylder et behov for eller ønsker? Skaber det en mulighed?

De mest succesfulde virksomheder løse enten problemer (enten reelle eller opfattede), eller de øger din kunde glæde. De skaber en gentage behovet for et produkt eller en service blandt målmarked.

2. på markedet. Dine chancer for overlevelse er bedre, hvis du kan svare på følgende spørgsmål med et ja: er der allerede et marked for dit produkt eller service? (Det er meget lettere at udfylde et behov end at forsøge at skabe et helt nyt marked.) Kan din målgruppe har råd til at købe dine produkter eller tjenester? (Hvis de ikke har råd til det, det er ligegyldigt hvor stor den er, du vil ikke sælge nogen!) Opfatter din målmarked dit produkt eller service som værdifuldt? (Hvis de ønsker det, men tror ikke det er værd hvad du sælger det for, vil du ikke gøre noget salg.)

3. din evne. Har du folk, ressourcerne og viden til at være i stand til konsekvent leverer dine produkter eller tjenester til din målmarked? Kan du bevare en konkurrencemæssig fordel? Har du nok arbejdskraft? Kan du købe forsyninger og materialer du har brug for i det lange løb?

Dit første skridt er altid at skabe en solid forretningsplan. Din forretningsplan er mere end et essay om “Hvorfor jeg fortjener at få tilskud til min idé” men. Ikke bruge al den tid på at skabe en forretningsplan og derefter kaste det i den nederste skuffe af dit skrivebord. Din forretningsplan bør være en levende, vejrtrækning køreplan, som hjælper dig med at sikre du er på kursus og nå de mål, du har angivet for din virksomhed.

Det andet skridt at business overlevelse er at få tilstrækkelig finansiering. Selv om udtrykket “bootstrap iværksætter” beskriver de fleste små virksomhedsejere, er har nok kapital til at være i stand til at holde din virksomhed kørende afgørende for din overlevelse.

Når du opretter din finansielle analyse af din virksomhed, Sørg for at du bliver realistisk om omkostninger og udgifter, således at du give dig selv den pude, du behøver for at lykkes.

Hvis finde finansiering er et problem, tager enten fordi du ikke har nok kredit eller egenkapital, eller der er andre problemer, sig tid til at undersøge de ressourcer, der er tilgængelige i dit community. Der er en bred vifte af tilskud og lån (herunder mikrolån) for iværksættere, hvis du ved hvor de skal lede.

Bruge andre succesrige forretningsmodeller som en guide. Når du er startet, kigge dig omkring. Hvilke virksomheder er vellykket? Hvorfor? Hvad er det de laver, er i orden? Hvilke attributter du beundrer, og hvorfor? Du står en bedre chance for at lykkes, hvis du modellering en person, der allerede er vellykkede.

Find en mentor. De fleste iværksættere har fantastiske færdigheder og evner, men gør ingen alt godt. Du har sikkert allerede ved, hvad dine stærke og svage sider er. (Hvis ikke der er mange ressourcer og værktøjer, der kan hjælpe dig med at finde ud af det!) I stedet for at ignorere dine svagheder, finde en mentor, der kan hjælpe dig med at opbygge dine færdigheder i din svagere områder, eller give råd til at få, hvad du har brug for.

Hvis du tager dig tid til at planlægge at lykkes, kan du oprette en arv, der vil blive nydt af fremtidige generationer, og at andre iværksættere vil se på som model til at opbygge deres egne virksomheder.
